How does PostGuard work?

PostGuard uses a Bluetooth connected smart lock system. When your Mail Carrier closes your mailbox fully, the lock engages and keeps your mail and packages safe. After pickup, make sure to keep your mailbox unlocked so your Mail Carrier can deliver your mail.

Can I open it remotely?

What if someone tries to force it open?
PostGuard uses a durable mechanical lock built by Southco, an industry leader. It’s built to resist prying, tampering, and most common theft attempts.

What happens if I lose my phone?

You can still unlock it by logging into the app on another phone.

Does it work in all weather conditions?
Yes, the lock is designed to withstand rain, snow, and heat. It's built to stay functional year round.

Can I install it on any mailbox?
PostGuard is compatible with most curbside mailboxes. If you’re not sure, send us a picture or model and we’ll help you confirm.

Does it protect packages too?
Yes! Unlike most solutions that only protect letters, PostGuard locks up your packages as well, anything that fits in your box stays secure.

How long does the battery last?
The battery typically lasts between 6 to 12 months, depending on how often your mailbox is used. The battery is attached to the bottom of the mailbox so that you can easily recharge it once it dies.

Where is the battery located, and how do I replace it?
The battery is attached to the bottom of the mailbox using Velcro for easy access. When it’s time to replace it, just pull it off, recharge it, and press it back into place no tools needed.
